Modern websites need multiple favicon formats and sizes to look sharp across all devices and contexts. Browser tabs use 16×16 or 32×32 pixel icons, while mobile home screens require 180×180 (Apple) or up to 512×512 (Android) pixel icons. Google Search results display your favicon at various sizes. The generator supports dark mode favicons using the SVG favicon format, which allows browsers to automatically switch between light and dark versions of your icon based on the user's system preferences. This ensures your favicon remains visible and on-brand regardless of the user's theme settings.

1. Upload your image — Select or drag-and-drop a PNG, SVG, JPEG, or WebP image. For best results, use a square image at least 512×512 pixels.
2. Configure the regular icon — Choose to use the image as-is, or add a background color with padding for better visibility at small sizes.
3. Set up dark mode (optional) — Upload a separate icon for dark themes, or use the same icon. The SVG favicon will automatically switch between versions.
4. Customize Apple Touch Icon — Configure the icon shown when users add your site to their iOS home screen. Set a background color and app name.
5. Configure Web App Manifest — Set your app name, short name, theme color, and background color for Android and PWA installations.
6. Set the favicon path — If your favicon files won't be at the root of your domain, specify the path (e.g., /assets/favicon/).
